How it works
The difference mode calculates the exact number of days between two dates, then derives weeks, months and years from that. Months and years are labelled as approximate because months vary in length.
Add or subtract mode uses calendar-aware logic: leap years are handled correctly, and end-of-month dates clamp to the last valid day of the resulting month.
